GEMBA Nejc Groups

Privacy

This is an unofficial app run by a classmate for the INSEAD GEMBA class. It is not an INSEAD service. It exists so classmates can recognise each other and organise study and social groups.

What the app stores about you

  • Your INSEAD email address and your name.
  • Your photo, and your country, city and WhatsApp number if you add them.
  • The groups you create, join and leave, with the time of each action.
  • Your notification choices, the devices you turned push on for, and your calendar link.
  • If you asked for access: the name and note you sent with the request.

There is no tracking, no advertising and no analytics about what you look at.

Who can see it

  • Signed-in classmates see your name, photo, country, city, WhatsApp number, the groups you are in, and each group's activity log (who joined, left or changed something, and when).
  • Admins (the organiser and a few classmates) also see email addresses, access requests and the log of admin actions, and can export this data.
  • Nobody else. Nothing is visible without signing in with an address on the class list.
  • The "Add to calendar" file of a group contains only its title, time, place and link, never names. Anyone with that link can open it.

Where it is kept

The database and photos are hosted by Supabase in Frankfurt (EU). The website runs on Vercel, and emails are sent through Resend. Push notifications go through your phone or browser maker's push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla). These companies process the data only to run the app.

The activity log

Joining, leaving and changes to groups are recorded in a log that cannot be edited or deleted, so the class can trust what happened. If you delete your account, your name and photo disappear from the log and entries about you show as "Former member".

Your choices

  • Change your profile and photo at any time under Me.
  • Turn each notification on or off under Me → Notifications and calendar.
  • Download everything stored about you under Me → Download my data.
  • Delete your account under Me → Delete my account. This removes your photo, profile, settings and sign-in at once and takes you out of every group. Groups you created stay for the others.
  • After deleting, your name and email stay on the class list so you can come back. Ask the organiser to remove that entry too.

How long it is kept

The app is for the duration of the programme. When the class no longer uses it, the organiser will delete the whole database.
